How to cite one

Name the edition and its date, because both matter: “Terragrado, The 20 best-rated places for a second home in Spain, 2026-Q3”. Each ranking page carries the model version it was computed under, and rankings from different model versions are not a time series of the same measurement — we say so on the page rather than leaving it to be discovered.

A link to the edition page or to the methodology is appreciated and is what lets a reader check the number rather than take it.

What is behind the numbers

• Every municipality in Spain, France, Italy and Portugal, graded A→G from published statistics — climate and hazard exposure, local vitality, amenities and access, property value, and the market. Sources, vintages and the places we refuse to publish a figure at all are listed on the methodology page.
• Provisional grades are excluded from these rankings entirely. Where a municipality is missing one of the five pillars, the site fills the gap with a neutral value and labels the grade provisional. That is honest on a town's own page and dishonest in a league table, so those towns are dropped — and each page states how many were dropped.
• Frozen, not live. Each edition stores the rows as they stood on publication day. If you quote a position from a 2026-Q3 table it will still be that position next year.
• No ranking on a proxy. The obvious property-press ranking — best rental yield — is not published, because for most of Spain and all of Portugal the only yield figure available is a provincial average wearing a municipal label. A table of those would look exactly like a real one.

Corrections are welcome and are the fastest way to improve the dataset — every municipality page carries a “something wrong here?” link that reaches the same place.
